Learned something new

I always assumed my old copy of "This Year's Model" I bought at a junk shop somewhere was a misprint. It seems like in the past companies would let covers like this go out more often (maybe the same ratio of errors is produced today, but the effect seems less because they sell fewer CDs/LPs?). Anyway, it was only when I was looking at a MFSL release announcement from
that I realized the "mix-up" was entirely intentional. According to Universal, Costello's newest back-catalog holders, the cover was a clever joke by designer Barney Bubbles the nom de design of graphic artist Colin Fulcher.
Secretly, if I'd known this I would have taken more care of the record.
